Some one stepped on my snail and he is still a live what do you guys think i should do?
poor snail :( ive had him for 2 years.

If you think he's too far gone to save, drop him into ice water. The shock will probably kill him near-instantaneously. If you want to try to keep him going, just isolate him from any stressors (tank mates, bright lights, etc.), keep his water quality as prisitine as possible, and hope for the best.

A long, long , long time ago , I kept land snails. My dog decided he should try eating one and it lost a good half of its shell. The shell can regrow over time, but needless to say its enviroment needs to be good.

I think I read somewhere that putting a cuttle fish in (that you'd feed to birds) would help give him nutriants to grow his shell back.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
