Hello all! I've been a part of the reptiles/amphibians community for a long time now, and you might recognize my name from other websites. I'm currently keeping and breeding mossy frogs, but I've always had a special place for sallies in my heart.

I'm also quite impressed with this forum and its community. Just from a quick skim, it seems everything is very neatly organized, and people take this seriously. I'm just sorry it took me so long to get registered to this place.

Welcome to the forum, Spawn.

Welcome to the Newt and Salamander Portal! Is this the same spawn from aquariumforum.com?

No it's not. Same spawn from the other amphibian forums, however.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
