The Science Channel's "Weird Creatures with Nick Baker" is featuring the Axolotl this week. I just stumbled onto it last night, or I would have posted this before. It looks like it will be broadcast again at 4 a.m. (EST?) November 13. Or, you can probably find it on hulu.com or other streaming video sites.

The most poignant thing about the show was the host spent a week trying to net an Axolotl in Lake Xochimilco without finding a single one.

I've been waiting for this programme to come on TV. The presenter is a member here on the site and posted about his trip to Mexico to film axolotls. He also keeps axolotls as pets and has done for years, I would love to see this programme, but I don't have that channel :(, perhaps it'll turn up on other channels soon.

Oh wow, thank you. I'm know what I'm going to be watching at 4am! :D

Does anybody know of a download link or a website where I can watch this episode online?

Thanks in advance.

I have the link for the torrent, Pm me for it

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
