Hello,

I am a bioloog with a special interest in the herpetofauna. This includes that I was working with amphibia and with reptiles. My workarea was the in the Netherlands. I have done a lot of researge on the amphia in temparary waters. In thiese pools the inhabitants where vulnerable to the Ph of the water.
At the moment I am tetired, but stil interested on the more general topics of the herpetofauna'

Re: Intrduction

Welcome to the forum Heremiet83. I too hope to spend retirement continuing my interest in herptofauna. Only another 30 years of work before I can put my feet up!

Enjoy your time here.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
