After the passing of my lil albino guy i decided to redo the tank for the remaining female. It was bare bottom with way to many plants. I went out and bought childs play sand thinking it would work the same as aquarium sand. So i got it home and spent several hours washing it to make sure it was clean. When the water was running clear i put it in the tank. DUMB IDEA! Its been an entire day now and the sand has almost all settled however i went and arranged the plants and caves and such and now its all stired up again. Will the sand eventually settle? Will axi stir it up when he darts around the tank??

Hi. The cloudiness will clear, dont worry. It may take a while. Once its settled it shouldn't be a problem. Mine are always kickin the sand up. In fact florence has sand on her face more often than not and it doesn't cause cloudiness again so dont worry.

After putting my sand in my first tank about 2days ago it's now completely cleared up.

When i've stirred it up a bit with rearranging scenery etc it clouds up for about 2 minutes and then settles very fast

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
