I have to take a road trip across a good portion of the USA this week.

I will be taking a Brand New Copy of the Petranka Book along with me. If you happen to be travelling and see a Caudata.org hat and shirt (tan and green respectively), you may want to come up and say hello!

First person to do so gets the Petranka Book!
;)

But you made it to Steak&Shake without coming into Michigan! How am I suppose to stalk you from out of state? :)

Have fun driving through Ohio!

My wife missed the 94/80 interchange, so we did end up in Michigan (second year in a row!). We were travelling with the pugs, so we stopped at just about every rest area between Omaha and Erie. I did not run into anyone from here, but a pet shop in Erie saw the hat when I walked in and quickly sent someone to the shelves to hide the poorly kept pyrrhos they had there.

I'll be doing another trip this spring that will range a bit further. May even schedule to meet up with some of you folks. Field Herping Season is just a few months away for us caudate addicts!

I don't know if you've seen or not but I had to move herp week up to Mar 27th-Apr 3rd. Maybe these will be better dates for you to drop by for a few days.

Actually, that is wonderful news! My birthday is a paid holiday from work which means an extended weekend that period. I may actually be able to make it out there this year!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
