Hello!

I know I'm not new, but I have been away so long, I wanted to announce my return and reintroduce myself...it's been 3 months, but finally I am back on line, in a new house with a new laptop.

Petrie is still as lovely and daft as ever and I now have a new addition to the family - a beautiful African Pygmy Hedgehog, who I will post pics of soon - her name is Tiddley.

Anyway, it's good to be back x

I hope you're not keeping the hedgehog and the axolotl together :p. Welcome back!

Nope, they share a room, but are only near enough to scowl at eachother and wonder how they can make the other into dinner! The hedgehog lives in a GIANT CAGE (I have some photos of me in it, it's that big) complete with a pink leopard print bed, various platforms and tubes and hammocks and a giant running wheel - pictures to follow shortly :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

x

Welcome back!!!!
Pigmy hedgehogs are adorable, nice choice :D
I thought you were going to get a dog, though. Mind you, hedgehogs are waaaaaaaay better in my book.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
