I am very new to this place in every aspect of the word. But i've been reading all your tips on helping Axolotls and I just had to join.
I own two and named them Noun and Verb.
I've never had Axy's before and so every little thing that do (or don't do) I start to wonder?
But so far, i've figured them out to be very fat, happy, little active guys with no basic instincts to call their own.
But their so lovable.
I look forward now to repetitively asking you all for help =)

:peace:

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
