No pictures yet of my leucistic babies since I'm letting them settle in. They each ate 6 live blackworms and are in perfect condition. He is seriously an awesome person, such a consumate professional and very personable. I'm amazed at how much he knows about them and breeds so many!
I ordered them a little over a week ago but since the weather here and in Kansas has been terrible we had to wait to ship. The entire time he remained in contact with me via email and phone calls, texts etc. Through all of my questions he is very patient with me! I just can't say enough good things about him.
I just wanted to thank everyone here for all of the advice as well as the amazing search function that is so very helpful! It's so nice to have a place to talk to other people who share my affinity and slight obsession with these incredible animals.
Oh, one has freckles and the other one doesn't and one of them yawned once, Oh, melted my soul completely!
Thanks everyone!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
