My name is Rhiannon, I'm 21 years old and I come from Wales.
At the moment I have a Spanish ribbed newt called Newtie who is coming up to 5 years old. I think Newtie is a girl and she has grown considerably since I moved her into the new tank in October although she is still only 5-6 inches long which I've been told is quite small. Newtie doesn't have any friends as I'm having difficulties tracking one that is the right size down so for now she lives on her own. She has a lovely character swimming in the tank to follow me around the room and gets very excited around feeding time.

In the future I hope to get some White's Tree Frogs so am trying to do as much research as possible on them and learn more about Newtie also.

You've come to the right place! ;)

Welcome to the site, Rhiannon and Newtie.

Welcome! I love the whites three frogs! The blue phase is very pretty!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
