dear ppl

i bought the other day frozen treats for my axies
its ocean krill (small ocean shrimps)
but is it good to go becuase there salt water critters and axies are fresh water does this give complications ?

if it´s occasionally given, it doesn´t matter. My axies are fed with salt water shrimps, too (1-2 times a month).

I also feed my gang the occasional prawn, but make sure you rinse it well as some are frozen with a protective glaze.
How big is the krill? I must admit I thought they are very small, if so they may be messy to feed/eat.

thanks callina and bellabello

yes i melt them first washed of the waste becuase i know frozen food carry sprung material from fast freezing them

i think they are around 3,5 to 5 cm its same only a differend brand Aquarium Fish Foods: Hikari Frozen Krill

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
