okay well i bought a plant for my tank but it didnt have roots or anything it was just like chopped stems? it's conserning. should it be this way? :( i hope they don't die.

which plant is it - do you know the name?
Some plants don´t have visible roots at their basic, but they grow back if the plant is planted. Or maybe, it´s even a swimming plant.

Those are 'stem plants' or 'bunch plants'..you can cut them and cut them, and they'll keep growing back as long as it has the proper nutrients. Where you cut it, two more branches will form on either side of the cut, making it bushier. They're a lot of fun to grow because, with hardier types like water wisteria, you almost can't kill them. :)

hey thank you!!! i can't remember what it's called ill go back to the pet shop and find out :) how do i make sure they get the right nutrients?

i think it's something called a primrose?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
