Hey everybody i was trying to find where i can but Quartz for my 10 gallon tank to replace my gravel. I have two Paramesotriton chinensis and they are doing fine no problems but it was suggested by Azhael that remove the gravel but i can not find any place that sells quarts. Does anyone know of a place? Thanks

Try searching google for smokey or rosey quartz, depending on what color you are looking for.

If this quartz you mention is what i have in mind, it´s basically the same as gravel..except polished.
Try fine sand, it´s a very good subtrate. It traps no debris, and posses no danger of impaction if ingested.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
