Hi there! I'm pretty new to all of this, but I have had a little experience with lizards before. I've owned four horned lizards and taken care of even more and I'm currently looking into getting an axolotl. Any information or help or anything with the site or whatever would be very much appreciated! :)

Welcome to the site!

If you haven't found it already, the Axolotl Site is a great place to start. A wealth of information can be found there on all things axolotl, as well as easy to read through caresheets.

Please feel free to join us in the Axolotl section of the forum if you need any help, or have any questions.

Be forewarned: Axolotls are highly addictive ;).

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
