Welcome to the forum! You will find plenty of help here! Check out Axolotls: The Fascinating Mexican Axolotl and the Tiger Salamander to make sure you are all ready for these little guys! If you have any questions, the knowledgeable members of the forum will help you, and once you know you are ready to care for an axolotl completely, there is a For Sale section at the bottom of the forum page. Please make sure you have done all your research in advance before venturing there though, take care and remember, if you have a question, just ask!

If you are looking for a new pet because your fish "just sit there", an Axolotl might not be the pet for you..they spend most of their time laying around or hidden out of sight. As Shannon said, do your research, and be aware that Axolotls are a big investment in time and money.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
