I do need help with the cycling thing. Im not sure i quite understand the process or what it does that is. I get that bacteria that is beneficial is supposed to take place.... But i think i need more education on the matter. They will be housed in a 75 gallon Aquarium

Hi and welcome! Wow a 75 - I'm so jealous right now!

Here's an article about cycling that should help: Caudata Culture Articles - Cycling Hopefully your tank is at least up and running right now - cycling is a long process. Also, if you haven't already, you need a good dechlorinator, a decent thermometer or 2 for a 75, a pH test kit, ammonia test kit, nitrite/nitrate test kits or a master freshwater kit that will have everything. Don't use the strip kind of tests, they tend to be inaccurate. Sounds like a lot, but these really are necessities.

If you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask, there are a lot of great people out here ready to help. ;)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
