I don't get it, my Cynops Orientalis was all set to being aquatic! Staying in the water for long periods of time, smooth skin (even when it isn't wet), runs fast when I pick him up. I've left him alone for a few days without anyone bothering him.. Though, I did move the tank downstairs where everyone walks around him. Could this be the reason?

Very frustrating.... Oh, and why does he only swim around the top of the water?

Cheers
Zac

Have you checked the water conditions or has the temperature increased?

Water conditions? As good as it will ever be to be honest. Though, the temperature has dropped to around 14-15 C (usually 17-20).

Though the strange thing is his skin is always wet..

He's reacting to the move downstairs the same way he reacted to being shipped from China. He'll spend some time on land until he has re-acclimated to the new surroundings and new temperature. I expect he'll be back in the water sooner or later.
