Just after a little advice on when to stop feeding my axolotls daily. I've had them for about 3 months now.

They are around 8" long, they seem happy enough to eat every day but i just wondered if i should be cutting them down to every other day.

At 8", it's fine to cut back to every other day. How many do you have? love to see pics sometime!

Just watch their weight by looking down on them from above. If their bodies are about the same width as their heads, they're fine. If the bodies are wider, cut back a little bit. If their bodies are narrower, feed a little more.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
