Hi I wondering if you can help me. 3 days ago my white axolotl started to red rash/blood vessuels appearing and his head to his tail, and 2 like blisser one on each side, he has lost abit of waight but he had eaten alittle 2day. The weather has been really hot where I am but I managed to keep the water to an ok temp. Plus I had a pleack in with them for about a month and had to take it out as it kept going for the White one. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me what it is and how to treat it. I'll put the pic of it on my album. Thank you.

What are your water parameters, how are you keeping the temp down, and why would you think it was an ok idea to put a pleco in with the axolotl? Did you do any research before getting the Axolotl?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
