Hey everyone, just got my first 2 Axies.
I'm from Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK and was wondering if anyone else has these near here?

Well, anyways;
I bought them from a shop near me in Newcastle,
It was sort of a rescue buy at the time, as I saw them and they were eating the gravel :/
They are both passing them though, which is good :)

they're about 4-5 inches long, so any ideas on the age?
I've got a large jewel tank too, maintaining the temp at about 20•c which is the best I can do for a week or so for payday.

Feeding them in Catfish pellets and frozen bloodworm, are try good enough? They seem to be enjoying them.

Many thanks for accepting me into the forum too!

Mark.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
