How long would it take for my Cynops Orientalis to calm down?

I did something very wrong a couple of days ago and left my Newt becoming extremely stressed. Not once has he left the water until now. How long would it take for him to calm down?

Hi Zac, I don't think anyone can give you a specific time. It depends on too many things. I'd say leave him alone, preferably without noise and light and hopefully he'll be ok soon.

Agreed, leave it alone for abit, I dropped one of mine once (they can be so quick [oops]) but he calmed down fairly quickly. What exactly did you do? I'm pretty sure no-one will judge you here, but it may help somewhat solve the problem.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
