Hello! I'm new to this forum, and actually have yet to own a salamander!

The reason being.. I can't find any.

I live in Toronto, in the GTA, and I can't seem to locate stores around me that sell Tiger Salamanders.

I've done just about as much research as I can, and now that I'm ready to learn from experience, it seems impossible to get my hands on one.

I was under the impression that Tigers were one of the more popularly sold types.

So if anyone knows any store that sell them, or breeders that breed them, in the area, it'd be greatly appreciated if you could tell me.

I don't drive, so long distance travel is an issue for me. ):

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
