Well, I been looking around and contemplating the idea of setting up a vivarium, I've had terrariums before with chameleons and leopard geckos before and right now I'm in the salt water/ reef aquarium but I would like to set up an axolotl set up when the time an knowledge is up to par to give the proper care to these animals. I'm located in Miami FL, so I'm aware it wont be an easy task but is very doable. Any help, or advise would be appreciated :)

From a fellow ( X ) reefer to another, WELCOME!

You'll find some good people here and some good info as well but its been kinda slow.

Why would living in Miami make things harder on you?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
