Yo, what's good? Yea I just met someone who runs a foster home and is only 15 years old that expanded over in 3 states. I'm best friends with this guy now and he got me into a very loving hobby of taking care of amphibians. I currently have 2 eastern newts and 3 fire-red belly newts. Along with many others like a dwarf frog, 3 tiny tree frogs, a baby turtle and now a armadillo lizard. Yea, I don't get how I'm so addicted to taking care of these little guys and buying them new things every other day.

Anyway, I'm Drew.. new to the reptile world, here for help and to discuss. Peace!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
