Hi!!

recently I added bought some plants for my axie and they were full of snails, so I put the snails in another little tank with some rocks and elodea, they are pond snails that are living in this tank that is like a small pond but I discovered this other creature, I have no clue what this is!!!
he's living under water without any problem, could it be a larval stage of any fly?? sorry for the picture, the thingy is basically transparent, with legs and some kind of pinch at the end of his tail, with black eyes, it looks like an insect!

It looks to be a caddis fly nymph. It's harmless unless you have very small larvae axolotls..

It's actually a damselfly nymph. Very common. Caddis flies build homes around themselves out of natural debris.

looks like a damselfly for the videos I've just seen on youtube

I'm learning a lot from reading this forum!!
thanks so much

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
