Hi All,
Ok after a few problems with my axies and tank etc one of my main problems has been how hot my tank is and thanks to a recent comment from Kaysie suggesting that maybe my filter was causing the problems it now looks like she is right so I am back to the drawing board and after your help again please
Ok so I have a 46.8 gallon / 182 litre tank which I would say is filled to about 40 gallons and I currently have a Fluval 205 external filter in it and Kaysie was so right, as soon as I switched it off my temp dropped by at least 2 degrees plus it seems the water is a lot more stable as even though the flow was right down I have a feeling this is what may have been causing a few of my problems so I am currently looking at getting a Fluval 105 external as that is a lot smaller, is this a good idea???? I also found upon going to clean my media after a month that the media was clean again I presume this was because my axies primarily eat earthworms and are gobbles up straight away and any poo is removed asap so I have a filter that is too big for the job required!
What type of filter do you guys use in your tanks please and what size are your tanks, any suggestions would be greatfully received???
Thanks Zoe
