This is the first time I have had an axolotl arrive in the post.
His name is Geronimo and he is a golden albino.
The person only packaged him with one LIVE FISH sign and Gerry is in really bad shape.
I'm not sure if he is dead, but he's not floating.
His mouth is open though, and I know that's a bad sign... I will check on him in a moment and maybe take photos.

Please wish Geronimo the best.

Geronimo has passed. I am deeply sorry for the little guy. I have been refunded my money but I really could care less of it... I feel so sorry for him. He will rest in peace in my heart forever.

Aw no!! Poor little guy.
I hope the person you bought him from reviews his shipping methods.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
