Question: Best temperature for larvae of various species ?

Hi everyone

recently i had an explosion of breeding with various species , now i have a big number of Pleurodeles waltl Cynops pyrrhogaster sasayame and T.Dobrogicus larvae.

All of my animals are in a room with open window , the temperature now is 13 deegre during the day 8 - 10 during night.
The animals seem very happy with this temps , almost all the species i got are in breeding condition now but i'm a bit worried for the larvae , they seem to eat just fine but are growing slowly compared to last year when they were exposed to higher temps( 16 - 20 degree)
no major loss so far , but based on yours experiences should i move the larvae in a different room with higher temperatures? for example a room with18 - 20 degree?

I would keep them cooler. Slow growth isn't necessarily a bad thing.
 
For the species you've mentioned, it's not bad at all. A few degrees Celcius would be better, but it isn't necessary. Lower temperatures results in slower growth, but in the end larger morphs.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
