Hi there, this is my first post here but i've been reading the forum for a while. I'm thinking of getting some axolotl eggs sometime early next year, i've read up on here and other places how to raise axolotls from eggs but still have a few questions.

The average size batch of eggs i've seen is 15. How many on average should make it to adulthood? (i know it will probably vary but if you can share your experiences it'll be helpfull)

If i was to get a 3ft tank that holds about 130 litres (35 US gallons) how many axolotls would be able to live together comfortably?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and i'm sure i'll have a lot more questions.

Thanks

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
