my wild type axie is developing red around the edges of his tail, he has been battling fungus the past few weeks. is this blood? i am not sure what it is or what to do about it, if anyone has any insight on this please let me in on it

Hi, do you have a picture of it? What are the water parameters and temperature?

i dont think i could get a good picture of it because i dont have a camera, just the camera on my cell phone. im sure the water parameters or not great because he is in a container because i have been giving him salt baths for the fungus. should i stop the salt baths?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
