Hello!

My name is Dana.... and I've been lurking and had to join because I'm VERY interested in those cute little axies :D
I plan to learn everything I can about them before taking the plunge... I have a 20gal(long) cycling, but I'm trying to take my time. ;)

I have a bullfrog juvi that I take care of at work, we've had him since he was a tad-pole... and I've always had fish...

But my heart dog is Maddie, an 8 year old cocker spaniel <3 I'm pretty active in cocker-rescue ;)

I'm loving the wealth of information on the forum.... *off to read some more*
See you around!!

Hi Dana!

Welcome to the board, hours worth of reading to be had, hehe!

Looking forward to seeing pics of your tank and your new little friend when you get him/her :)

Oh, and btw, cocker spaniels are awesome. My gran had one as I was growing up, such adorable, loyal dogs. How is it you are involved in rescue?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
