I'm thinking about buying a Marineland LED lightbar for my tank. Since LED's don't emit any or very little heat would this be a good choice? It would be used mostly on the moonlight setting at night. Was wondering if anyone else has some experience with LED?

Which colour out of this selection did you get?

They look great! I already have some of those strips of LEDS lying around but they're blue and I don't think they're waterproof...I might have to do some shopping...

I got white ones - (cool white I think) it wasnt from this particular vendor either but they are exactly similar in appearance. I'm sure blue would work Siona if you were happy with the colour and just make sure the plugged ends are clear of water they would be safe enough. They're only 12 Volts, plugged into an adapter.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
