A small introduction of Alex the Axolotl... He's about 8 months old and he was only 4" when I got him, he's now about 8" long.

^ Agreed. Very handsome, happy looking axolotl. He looks like he's posing for the camera. :D

What a cute fella! I like the second picture a lot.

Great looking axie! Love the pose for the camera.

Not been on here for a while... Alex(the axolotl) is doing perfectly. Getting bigger like his appetite. Any plants suggestions? Plants that don't need fertilizers or too much light or care?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
