Hi, I'm Jason from Chicago, IL. I love to read, and long walks on the beach. I'm new to newts, and could use your help.

I have a re-found interest in aquatica (is that even a word), and always loved amphibians and reptiles. I have two African dwarfs in my community tank of about 17 very friendly fish, and just recently adopted a fire-belly newt to be housed in my other aquarium. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure what kind of fire-belly it is. I posted another thread where you could find a brief description, along with a few photos. So, if you're pretty knowledgeable, and wouldn't mind helping me out, I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks again!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
