My axie has spent the last day or so floating, and I honestly have no idea why.
I don't think he is constipated because he is in a bare bottomed tank and he is fed on earthworm and bloodworm, and he poops fairly regularly.
he is fairly young and I am aware that younger axies can float but I don't think this is the issue, and he seems to be gasping for air even though there is a air powered sponge filter in the tank and a airstone.
I am completely stumped as to why he is acting this way as I have never seen him float so much for as long as I have had him.
he is currently in the fridge because we are experiencing some hot weather he is still floating at the top, and he is eating, but not as much, and I do suspect he is floating because he has been gasping for air, and he may have swallowed some, and if this is the case, how do I get him to "burp" it up?
water chemistry in the tank and the containers in the fridge checks out. the tank is about 23 degrees but as above, he is on holiday in the fridge.
any ideas?
