My tank is cycling again so I just want to make sure If it's normal for them to jam themselves between the aquarium's side and another object making them stay vertical.

Hahaha, well, you say 'normal'...

I would certainly say so, I'm looking at mine right now, and Roscoe is vertical, pointing downwards, up the side of the tank with his face wedged between a rock and Chester.

Lol okay I've just never seen them so much before. They use to always hide in the littlest of crevices. But they are getting bigger.

i went to fetch the camera to get you a picture, and on typical form, when I got back, he'd moved to a normal position!

They do make me laugh with their strange ways.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
