Hi
Sorry not been here long time been in process of finding new job anyways, was feeding Chicho today and one side of his stomach seems to be rather bloated when compared to the other. He is a sand based substrate tank so there is now gravel for him to swallow. I have been feeding him on earthworms and medium Axolotl pellets just wondering is there something to worry about? Hes eating fine and seems quite happy and is pooping any ideas?

Hey,

Could you get a pic of Chicho up? It really depends. I've noticed this occasionally with my lot, so I wouldn't necessarily worry, unless it's really pronounced. A picture would help us tell if it's normal or not :)

Hope the job hunting has gone well :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
