Hi there, my name is Genevieve, and I'm a graduating senior in highschool. I've always loved "strange fishy amphibian" creatures as my dad so eloquently puts it, and am looking forward to expanding my collection. I am the proud owner of 3 african clawed frogs, all healthy and about to get a 35 gallon tank! They've all grown huge over the 9 years that I've had them, and the 10 gallon they currently reside in will go to a lucky axolotl that I'm shopping around for. I haven't quite found the one ( or two) yet, and I've inquired about prices and colors with a few breeders. After researching all the requirements and special precautions to take with raising a healthy axoltotl, I believe I am ready to take on the responsibility of a new friend.
For me, I'd love to get a melanoid and a golden albino axie. I've seen an Axolotl that is grey/mottled like the wild types, but with hot pink gills like the leucistic axies. Does anyone know what they're called or where I can get one?
Thanks for reading,
Genevieve. :p

Ah I see, thanks for the advice! And yes, that's her. :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
