Hey all Caudata users!

Im Aaron, 17-18 in about 10 days! I have a massive interest in axolotls and hopefully soon will own 4, I have spent around 2 years researching axolotls from the internet, books and LPS.

I live in the UK, pudsey(Land of the pudseybear, close to leeds)

I also have a massive interest in herping and outdoors and would love to own some salamanders and newts too!

Im friendly and always happy to chat :happy:

Welcome! Everyone is really friendly, im kind of new myself and ive gained so much info, tips and help in the short time ive been on the site, hope you enjoy and meet new friends too :D

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
