Hey i know your not supposed to home different species with axolotls but i was wandering if you could mix tiger salamanders with them ??

I believe that tiger salamanders when adults, are land animals. so you would only be able to keep the larvae in a aquatic tank.

I would not advise mixing them.

Chris is correct as tiger salamanders do morph. While in their larval form, their requirements are similar, but you will want to have your tiger tank easily convertible to include land areas for when the morphing begins and then more once it has become fully terrestrial. I also agree with not mixing. In addition to points made, larval tigers are most commonly taken from the wild and could carry disease, parasites, etc.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
