I recently purchased a tetra fauna viquarium and a 55 gallon tank. I have Fire-belly newts in my tank. I was looking at the exo-terra fogger to go with it, but I saw mixed reviews stating that my newts could be harmed. Has anyone used this viquarium with this fogger?

Personally I wouldn't bother with a fogger. I'm unsure exactly what a tetra fauna viquarium is but firebellied newts are largely aquatic so a fogger on any land section is overkill to my mind. In fact healthy, settled adult firebellied newts will need no more than a piece of floating cork to haul out on occasionally. Raising humidity is not necessary.

The main concerns about ultrasonic foggers are the vibrations, which whilst we may not notice the newts might, potentially causing stress and the additional heat the unit may produce. Any heat source is generally discouraged for newt enclosures. If you must raise the humidity of a newt enclosure you'd be better off with an external humidifier and pipe the fog in. Although as said, it's not necessary.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
