Well hello everyone!

First off to introduce myself... I am a student at the Art Institute majoring in Media Arts and Animation. I love all sorts of animals, I currently am the owner of 3 dogs ( 2 Schnuazers, 1 Miniature Pinscher.), 1 cat, fish and a ghost shrimp.

My current interest in a new pet is an Axolotl, I am thinking about building a custom aquarium to be rather long. So I joined up on the forums here to pester all you knowledgeable folks with questions about the display I intend on making this summer. I hopefully I can share my progress with you all on this new adventure.

Thanks for taking the time to read :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
