Do they do it to confuse me?

Right a month or so ago I found 5 little eggs in my tank shortly after getting some new plants in my tank (I posted on here and they confused us all as they looked very similar to Axie eggs but noone was sure what they were), then a few days later I noticed what looked like their little sperm volcanoes (again posted on here). Anyway nothing came of the eggs and I just assumed they were in fact snail eggs or just random duds.

Well tonight I come home again from a few nights away and there are approximately 20 - 30 eggs in my tank just like the ones before (I have now removed them and put them in a separate tank in case), however to confuse me there are also 2 sperm volcanoes that I can see but a few days ago I again got new plants.

So my family and I are guessing if these will be snails or Axies eggs. If they are snails why does Spongebob find this the perfect time TWICE (and the only 2 times he has deposited sperm) to do so? And if they are Axie eggs then was this encouraged by the adding of plants?

Sorry long post again but I think my Axies are trying to play mind games with me :p What do you guys think?

The times that my axies laid eggs, coincided with us going away. I tended to close blinds and turn off any sources of heat and this would trigger the egg laying.

maybe it was just the change that encouraged it then, well I shall treat the eggs as Axie egg once again and see if anything comes of it this time, I have moved them to a separate tank and added a plant should i do anything else?

well I spoke to an aquatics person online and sent photos and they have said my eggs are definitely not snail eggs so I shall see if some Axie babies come along this time round or if they will simply be duds

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
