hey everyone, My name is Sarah and im thinking seriously about getting an axolotl, they are soo cute and they are amazing creatures. I joined the forum because you guys are awesome....thanks john!!! Nah well I want to make a really good home for my new axolotl when I get him soo im here to learn more about them.

Your absolutely right, iv had my axolotl for about 4 days now and I haven't looked back, they are by far one of the most amazing creatures ever... My axies name is "princess" I love watching her swim and move around...


Just read up on as much info as u possibly can, I did that b4 I got her that way u understand and u know wat ur getting male/female everyone her is so welcoming, so enjoy looking on here and any questions u have u can ask and people r very willing to help answer..

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
