I just went to get the weekly shop and i spotted 5 liters of water for £1 so i thought i might risk it at a quid, just checking its safe first though :D

Mineral analysis
typical values mg per liter

Calcium 22
Magnesium 2
Potassium 7
Sodium 75
Bicarbonates 280
Chloride 15 ( is this safe?)
Sulphates 11
Nitrates <1
Nitrites <0.01
Ph 7.8 at source

It will be going into my goldfish tank if its okay and then to my axie tank if it seems fine, anyone know if its safe? Thanks :D

Not sure on price of Ice valley but I've used the 5 litre bottles of Asda's own mineral water and been fine :) It lowered the pH a tiny bit but not by a substantial amount. It only costs 95p :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
