Hey guys,

I just bought a pair of ghost shrimp, hoping to add them to my 20gal P.Waltl setup but wanted to find out, definitively, how long I should quarantine. I keep seeing people referring to a "30 day standard quarantine" - is this correct?

I currently have a 1~ gal small plastic (vented) tank that I put the ghost shrimp in. Is that sufficient? If I don't have a filter, how frequently should I change the water? And how much water should I be adding? Is it OK to use tap water and de-chlorinater solution? And what should I be feeding to them? I have frozen bloodworms that I feed the newts and just bought some wax worms. There are a handful of dead wax worms - will the shrimp eat those if I stick them in the tank?

TIA guys!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
