Hello everyone,
Just to inform those who replied to my post of my "So called Axolotl/odd spots on tail" I purchased 5 more Axolotls ! Yes, these are actual Axaolotl's and no tiger salamander larvae this time !
I purchased them from a buddy who sold me the 1st one that transformed into a tiget salamander, im getting pictures of her progress so pictures will be up soon of Jynx ! :)
Anyways, I noticed a couple of my Axie's are floating ? Are they adjusting to there tank that was sold with them ? It's a big tank so plenty of room to swim and grow. They haven't eaten much when they got here, there water is fine, not tap water obviously. What is the reason for them to float ? I noticed one of them been floating all day, some of the other axie's would float for abit then sink down. Anything i should do ? Give them what i can ?

Some axie just float cause they like to float especially if they are young. I notice mine float if they are hungry. If your water is fine, the temp is ok and your axies arent on gravel(that could be stuck) they should be ok. I would just keep and eye on them.

If the guy sold you something and lied about what it was, why would you go back and buy more?

I was pretty much a noob at telling what an axolotl and a salamander larvae apart, I did more research and went to his place to take a MUCH Closer look before i purchase, I can see there all 100% axolotl's. There doing fine now. Not much floating around  cute little monsters they are !

Could you post a picture? Most experts are even hard-pressed to tell tigers from axolotls.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
