I have had 13 Eastern Spotted Newts for over 7 years. They have never been sick and thrive on frozen bloodworms. Once in a while I have seen a baby but I think they eat the babies. While cleaning the aquarium yesterday, I saw a 1/8" baby which is a significant size. Does anyone have some tips on breeding and raising these? I have went by alot of the advice suchas folded over leaves, folded over trash-bags for the mama newts to lay eggs, but to no avail. I really need to up the strategy here. Also, I would like to start a breed of newts that is easier to harvest the larvae and just as hardy as these guys have been...............
