HOORAY FOR THE THUNDERSTORM!!! :D My tank is cooling nicely!

*rejoices about the rain and does a rain dance*

Lucky you! I love thunderstorms, but despite weird "close" weather with plenty of cloud yesterday, we only got the tiniest sprinkle of rain + no thunder :(
My tanks went above 20C for the 1st time yesterday, so I've had windows open, fans blowing + was even ready to resort to ice bottles (which I don't like, as I feel they're too unstable) on my baby leucies tank, as they got to 23C!!! :( The little guys were promptly given MY desk fan, which got them down below 18C + I sweltered through the day instead ;)
Not so bad today though, thankfully, but I've kept the fans running, as it's only the breeze cooling outside down + not my house.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
