I've seen a few people in the UK ask about where to buy them so thought I'd post a link. I can get them in my LFS but this shop on ebay also sells them :) and I think this stuff is meant to be good for building a DIY divider :) I read somewhere as well that you can get suitable mesh in the gardening department of stores like Homebase :) I just have no clue how to attach it lol

Thanks star thats really useful! Thinking of joining my wildtype with my adult axie when it's ready. My adult is 25cm long, how big should I wait for my baby to grow until its safe to put it in the tank with my adult?

About the same size, as close as possible really. My leucies were almost the same length but not the same width as my wild and she ate their legs. If you have a divider in there though you can keep it in until your baby is big enough so they are used to each other :) I think it can depend on their temperament though so trial and error once they are close in size. I do remember reading somewhere that wilds can be more aggressive than other colours so just keep an eye on them :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
